Chief of Staff for Start Up Manufacturer – Part Time

Our client, a start-up company focused on manufacturing sustainable materials, is seeking a part-time Chief of Staff responsible for a wide variety of duties including leadership and management in all areas of financial management, operations, administration, communication, and governance.  This position will report to the President, will be very flexible and will start at 10-15 hours per week.  Hours will increase as the company and duties require. 

 

DUTIES:

•         Serve as 'right-hand' of company president, supporting day-to-day operations of the company

•         Record keeping and performance reporting

•         Budgeting and bookkeeping

•         Contract review

•         Board of Directors support

•         Purchasing

•         General office management

•         Special projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       Strong financial and analytical background

2.       Demonstrated project/process management ability

3.       Comfort with uncertainty and ambiguity

4.       Experience in multiple functional areas such as HR, marketing, accounting, operations, legal, etc.

5.       Excellent communication and presentation skills

6.       Pro-active and energetic professional with high personal integrity and ability to develop good interpersonal relationships

7.       Ability to employ strict discretion in sensitive situations

8.       Practical, "roll-up your sleeves" style

9.       Experience in a manufacturing or start-up environment is preferred  

10.   An advanced degree, MBA or JD, is highly desirable
