Welder Needed

 

Welding Alloys IntegraÒ, a special division dedicated to the weld overlay of new and worn parts for industries such as Steel, Cement and Power, has built up a world-wide reputation for carrying out both in-house and in-situ welding services, and represents the integrated approach for the control of wear and extension of operational life of industrial equipment and components.

 

We are currently seeking a Welder, skilled or semi-skilled, to weld overlay various low alloy and specialized materials using semi-automatic and automatic equipment.  Work is varied, most carried out on-site in various parts of the U.S. and Canada.  There is likely to be the opportunity for overseas travel.

·         To set up and carry out of welding operations according to WA and customer.

·         To ensure all health & safety requirements are adhered to.

·         To actively participate in housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment. 

·         To carry out and record all welding operations.

·         To assist in developing the overall team effectiveness.

Decision making authority

·         Full authority inside own function.

Key competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/ Attitude, Job-related Behavior)

·         Technical qualification in welding or mechanical engineering.

·         Previous proven successful experience with automatic welding equipment.

·         High organizational and problem solving skills. In the habit of working in a busy and complex environment, staying calm under pressure.

·         Outgoing personality, in order to interact with internal and external customers at all levels.

·         Self-motivation and a high degree of commitment to the company’s objectives and targets.

·         Good communication skills. Advanced level of English is a must.

·         Being able and willing to take on responsibility

Desired competencies

·         Previous experience with consumables for fabrication, hardfacing and cladding

·         Practical hands-on experience of system control of heavy duty equipment.

Main job / role (Customer, People, Finance, Process)

·         To actively participate in the setting up and carrying out of welding operations according to WA and customer specifications both on site and in house. To ensure all health & safety requirements are adhered to in house and on site. To actively participate in housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment. 

·         To set up and carry out welding operations according to the agreed requirements and procedures to meet the customer’s contract specification

·         Implement risk assessments/work method statements/ permits/ authorisation to work etc. to ensure the well-being of others and to meet customer and legal requirements.

·         Liaise with site engineers to ensure planned work will be carried out within the scheduled times allocated, in order to meet customer requirements.

·         To carry out and record all welding operations according to in-house procedures so that WA and customer quality requirements are met

·         Maintain all working areas in-house and on site to agreed WA standards to ensure a safe working environment.

·         Put forward ideas for improvements/changes in working methods and equipment in order to assist in developing the overall team effectiveness.

Miscellaneous

·         Willing and able to travel across the US and overseas at short notice.

·         Must have current valid driver's license and clean driving record.

·         Must have (pass) a clean criminal background.

·         Must be able to pass a drug test.

·         Open to shift-working.
