Groundskeeper

The Kenton County Airport Board (owner and operator of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport) has an opening for a Groundskeeper in the Grounds Maintenance Department. This individual will work under general supervision to perform skilled and semi-skilled work in a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance duties; and to do related work as required. 

Incumbents are responsible for performing any or all of the following Essential Functions:

1.       Assists with installing landscape.

2.       Applies landscape chemicals; i.e., fertilizers and weed controls.

3.       Maintains landscape.

4.       Mow grass.

5.       Removes snow on streets and walkways.

6.       Installs and maintains irrigation systems.

7.       Applies pest control.

8.       Removes trash in designated areas.

9.       Maintains small tools and riding equipment in good working order.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent or Vocational training with four years related work experience.  Applicants must have knowledge of the materials, tools, equipment and methods used in grounds maintenance thru verified experience. Applicants must also have Knowledge of landscape construction and plant pruning and the physical capacity to do manual work and in extreme temperatures. The incumbent must be able to Establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external and be able to communicate with KCAB and tenants. Applicants must hold a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and must maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) clearance.
