Position Title:            Networking & Special Projects Marketing Intern 

Description:  Assist in marketing a number of events, monthly and annual.

Responsibilities:

·        Send out communication for upcoming events.

·        Follow up with event attendees on details of the event.

·        Assist in marketing for the event.

Candidate Requirements:

·        Excellent written and spoken communication skills are a must.

·        Knowledge of Adobe and Publisher helpful

·        Knowledge of MS Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint).

·        Fast learner, independent worker and enthusiastic attitude.

·        Must have means of transportation. 

Period of internship: Flexible based on school schedule. 

Hours per Week: Interns will be expected to work 12-15 hours per week during business hours. (8:00am to 5:00 pm, M-F) 

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.

Position Title:            LEGACY Marketing Intern 

Description:  LEGACY is a Young Professional’s (21-40) organization that is housed at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. LEGACY currently has over 300 members and is looking for opportunities to increase its membership.

Responsibilities:

·        Develop a presentation to be given to local companies on the benefits of LEGACY.

·        Schedule appointments with local companies to give a presentation to their staff.

·        Execute the presentation at each appointment.

·        Support the marketing committee.

Candidate Requirements:

·        Excellent written and spoken communication skills are a must.

·        Knowledge of Adobe and Publisher helpful

·        Knowledge of MS Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint).

·        Fast learner, independent worker and enthusiastic attitude.

·        Must have means of transportation.

Position Title: Communications & Marketing Intern

Responsibilities:

§         Work with other Chamber departments to create and update internal and external flyers, event programs, brochures and other creative materials

§         Assist in the layout of newsletters

§         Design contemporary social media template pages

§         Explore the use of Web 2.0 solutions for promotions and communications

Candidate Requirements:

Strong creative, organization and time management skills
Attention to detail
Technologically proficient in Adobe InDesign, PageMaker and Photoshop
College student with Junior class standing or higher
Understanding of web design and layouts

Hours: 10-15 hours weekly for 3-4 months (based on spring semester), flexible schedule

Compensation:  This is an unpaid internship.

Position Title:   Marketing and Public Relations Internship – Workforce and Education 

Description:  Assist department with marketing and publicity needs

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement plan for promoting Workforce and Education initiatives to key stakeholders throughout community
  • Update content and graphic elements to www.jobs-nky.com and www.educationguide-nky.com web sites – build additional knowledge of resources
  • Work with staff to identify content for bi-weekly/monthly electronic newsletters and update to these communication pieces 

Candidate Requirements:

·        Knowledgeable in design software, including:

            -Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, PageMaker

·        Knowledge of MS Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint).

·        Excellent writing skills

·        Fast learner, independent worker and enthusiastic attitude. 

Period of internship: Begins September 2010 thru current semester, based on school calendar. 

Hours per Week: Hours are somewhat flexible to meet school requirements; however, it is expected that this internship would last approximately 10 weeks and that the selected candidate would be available a minimum of 7 hours per week. 

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.

Position Title:  Business Development and International Trade Intern

Responsibilities:

Create and update internal and external flyers, event programs and brochures
Create press releases and Business Journal articles along with Chamber Staff
Develop communication materials for events and committee meetings
Assist in other department duties as required

Candidate Requirements:

College student with Junior class standing or higher
Preferably a Public Relations or Marketing major
Strong communication, organization and time management skills
Attention to detail
Technologically proficient and willing to learn Adobe PageMaker
Must have means of transportation
Fast learner, independent worker and enthusiastic attitude

Hours: 10-15 hours weekly for 3 months, flexible schedule

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship
