Job purpose:

 

Responsible for interviewing, testing, and referring applicants for clerical, technical, administrative and management positions throughout the Company. Considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the Company, an understanding of the Company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

Recruit, interview, and screen job candidates to fill available company openings by visiting college campuses, consulting with search firms and placement agencies, and contacts within the larger community.

Analyze the information provided on a prospective employee's application form, conduct a personal interview. Determine the suitability of the applicant for employment. In cases where an applicant is judged unqualified, tactfully turn the applicant away. When the information provided indicates a good potential employee. Performs further background reference investigation, i.e., prior employment references, transcripts, etc. to gain adequate information on which to base a selection decision. Take into consideration previous experience, education, etc.

 

 

essential duties and responsibilities:

Meets with department supervisors to discuss upcoming company needs and develop multifaceted recruitment program.

Prepares descriptions of available job opportunities and accompanying compensation schedules.

Contacts community job placement services, private personnel agencies, and colleges to set up interviews with job counselors and prospective candidates. 

Provides information on the company, its policies, benefits, and available opportunities to agencies, colleges, and prospects.

Interviews applicants and gathers information regarding education, experience, training, job skills, and salary requirements.

Checks credentials and references, and schedules follow-up interviews with company supervisors, managers, and supervisors. 

Arranges travel and lodging accommodations for applicants coming from distant locations.

Supervises interviewing, testing, and hiring processes to ensure adherence to all equal employment opportunity (EEO) legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other government compliance requirements. Maintains necessary files covering applications, interviews, and testing procedures. 

 

 

Experience, Competencies, and Education:

·        Excellent leadership skills with a philosophy of creating a high-trust culture that empowers employees as individual contributors and fosters a strong team environment. Initiative, creativity, outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a matrixed organizational structure, developing strong relationships with all levels of management.

·        Bachelor’s degree in business administration, psychology, or related field plus at least two years of experience in human resources department.

·        Thorough knowledge of equal employment opportunity laws, ADA, and other government compliance regulations that affect job recruitment.

·        Excellent interviewing and general communications and writing skills.
